Anthrocon 2013 is upon us!  This year, Sharky and I will be working again to coordinate the Fursuit Track!

I am looking for panelists to donate some time and skill to go over areas of fursuiting experience they are familiar with!

Below are generic items covered by this track, but ANY idea would be helpful!  Please feel free to forward this email to anyone who may be attending the convention who would be interested!

FURSUIT CONSTRUCTION, DESIGNERS, and/or CRAFTSPEOPLE:

To those individuals or companies who are in the business of creating designing or making fursuits, this could be a valuable way to not only reach an audience of like minded individuals who are interested in your craft, but potentially target your skills to a specific audience attentive of what you have to offer!  In the past, people have done construction panels, workshops on specific types of design (eg. Electronics), cleaning and maintenance, and even panels on basic sewing technique!

This year, we will have a special surprise for those who assist us with construction, design, or fursuit craft panels!

FURSUIT ENTERTAINERS, PERFORMANCE ARTISTS, and/or COSTUMERS

For those costumers who either perform, mascot, or have talent in entertainment; showcasing your abilities will surely allow others the ability to understand the difficulties involved in the performance aspects of costuming.  You may be able to help others better hone there craft, and become better performers overall!  In prior years, we have had amazing talent showcased from major professional mascots, to independent contractors, to even general techniques on how to manage an audience!

FURSUIT GAMES & FUN!

Fursuiters enjoy showing off and proving a captive audience with entertainment!  If you have an idea of an event you would wish to sponsor with your help, please feel free to also contact me as well!  We will have many fursuit activities, and it would be awesome to include new ideas to make it even better!  In the past, things such as the “Fursuit Dance Competition”, the “Fursuit Games”, and "fursuit charades"!

PLEASE EMAIL US YOUR IDEAS OR SUGGESTIONS FOR PANELS TO THE FOLLOWING ADDRESS:

fursuit-track@anthrocon.org

If there are any other questions/comments/concerns, please either email them to the address above, or leave a comment below!

Thanks!

Panda & Sharky

Anthrocon does not offer fursuit storage.  Nor does it offer changing rooms to get into or out of fursuit.  You should put your fursuit and take it off in your hotel room.

It is a panel- a meeting, class, instruction, group - that will talk about how to craft - make, build, cosntruct, adapt - a fursuit.

Poland is a long way to travel, hope you can make the trip!!  Anthrocon has some of the best presentations partly because of the folks attending the panels and the folks running them.

Remember my fellow furs, one of the reasons Anthrocon has been such a large success is due to the wonderful attendees who contribute to the convention. We have ALWAYS had a wide range of events to attend that no one should ever run out of things to do or sea ! (LOL A fish joke)

We are simply the best and biggest fur convention around now and we want to keep that title. However this cannot be done without your assistance. If you have ever expressed any interest in running a panel, then now is the time to swim up and do it. I can assure you running a panel is not hard and can be a really fun and a rewarding experience, trust me. It’s like I always say, if you can’t trust a shark who can you trust?

If you want to run a panel but don’t know how, or have any general questions than contact us as soon as possible. We (the staff) are here to serve you, the attendees of this wonderful convention. Together we can keep AC the best con in the world. This in turn makes our bosses happy and they give me and Panda a small increase in our daily allowance of fish, or Bamboo. (A happy shark or bear is a well fed one)

So get off your furry tails, and let’s get those panel ideas to us ASAP

Heyo! I'd love to bring my Fursuit Lighting and Tech panel back to AC again this year. Was a huge success last time I hosted it at AC (first time for that panel actually) and has matured a lot since then. Will pop an email your way!

@Sharky...  Remember the Sharks Oath...

I am a nice shark, not a mindless eating machine. If I am to change this image, I must first change myself. Fursuiters are friends, not food!

If you need an extra Fursuiter to help in any panels such as the "How to handle a fursuiter" as a "prop" of sorts, I'll be more than happy to help out in any panels you think I could be useful in.

Even if the fursuiter is surfing in the nice warm waters off the coast of Hawaii, those lean, juicy legs glistening with just the right amount of salt water, a nice garnish of seaweed draped over his shoulders...?

Oh that’s a tempting thought for sure. But we need to encourage our guest registration at this point. I don’t think it would be good for the convention if some of our guests went missing. Besides I am on a weight watchers diet, and my wife says I need to drop 20 pounds.
