I don't know if this is entirely current so you may want to check with the police department to be safe (Call their non-emergency number if you do!)

419.10 PROHIBITING SKATEBOARDS, ROLLER SKATES, SKOOTERS AND BICYCLES ON SIDEWALKS IN BUSINESS DISTRICTS.
(a) Limitations. No person shall be permitted to ride a skateboard, roller skates, scooter or bicycle on the sidewalks of any business district within the city.
(b) Violation and penalty. Any person violating any provision of this section shall be fined $25 plus costs.

Thanks for finding that, but I'll take my chances. I wasn't planning on doing more than using them for transportation (after security was bothered by me skating down the lit-up waterfall path last year), so I'll have to make sure I have $25+ on me at all times, just in case.

It's a strange balance, where the government/businesses don't want you skating in public, but built sub-standard/crappy public skateparks, and expect everyone to cram themselves into those little places (usually either pre-built plastic/metal ramps or shoddy non-professional design) and co-habitate.
