Hi all, Well, Anthrocon is less than 2 months away. Can you believe it?!?! I've been updating the programming grid with all of the new additions and changes (and it changes fast...with several major revisions in the last 2 weeks alone.) Some special items to note: One of our Guests of Honor, Rob Paulsen, has agreed to host a panel on "How to get into Voice Acting". This panel will be held by one of the current pre-eminent names in voice talent in Hollywood! If you're serious about wanting to know more about becoming vocal talent, this should be a very good panel for you to attend. He'll also be hosting a "Saturday Morning Memories event". Rob will be sharing lots of fun memories from his many gigs as the vocal talent behind some of our favorite cartoon personalities (such as Yakko Warner, Pinky, and Gusto Gummi Bear). As Mr. Paulsen's schedule is VERY busy, he will be hosting his panels and discussions on Saturday and a bit on Sunday. Brian Schmidt has graciously stepped in to oversee our Music Festival. If there are any musicians who wish to perform in our festival (which is tentatively looking to be held on Sunday afternoon), I will be making contact information for Brian available shortly. Are you ready to feel the Groove? DJ Rory will be holding Anthrocon's very first Funk Music Party! Feel free to wear your funkiest fashions to this fun new addition to the Anthrocon lineup! The Countdown is starting...for the return of Cargo's Capsule! An alternative to the dances, Cargo has arranged the return of his Capsule Lounge. This late night event is a great way to relax. Stop in for a while! The Funday Pawpet Show is returning to Anthrocon! This program, now in its 7th year of production, will have most of the main cast members performing an abbreviated show live at Anthrocon. People asked, and we listened! The fursuit parade has changed days! This year, the fursuit parade will be held on Saturday afternoon! If you have a fursuit, be ready to parade through the dealer's room. We are working on culminating again on the deck outside the convention center for an enormous panoramic shot of all our fursuiters together. If you didn't see last year's photos, check out this link: http://images.monocerosmedia.com/gallery/v/ac/ac2006/parade/ There will be a number of fantastic art panels including a panel on introductory sculpture. SueDeer will also be doing some new drawing panels that are sure to help many aspiring artists! Many recurring main stage events are already slated for return. These include: Our Masquerade, Uncle Kage's Story Hour, 2's Rant, and Anthropoly - the Anthrocon Game Show! We have lots of fun things planned, and we are still accepting new events to add to the program. (Even our Guests of Honor have been adding some new events!) But time's running out! If you plan to attend Anthrocon and would like to host a panel or event, please write to programming.2007 (at) anthrocon (dot) org so that we can include your panel on the schedule! Panelists who wish to have their event added to the schedule should contact programming by May 31 for inclusion in the schedule. Hope to see everyone in Pittsburgh! KP |

permalinkHas this contact information been posted? I have searched around and, unless I missed some large flashing pointer in the style of Benny The Cab's "This One, Stupid!" sign*, I haven't seen anything as yet.
I would like to make a second attempt at signing up for the Festival. Seeing as there are only four weeks left, I hope that it isn't too late.
