I dont know how many people will be trekking to AC by Greyhound like myself and my husband. But if you are, here are some travel tips We have picked up over the last couple of years that make the Trip not only more bearable, but also help prevent the dreaded 'Greyhound Gruesomes' (that awefull sick, tired, lax feeling you get when you arrive) First off it's always good to remember that no matter how many different 'New' buses you end up on, they are not always 'clean' buses. Dont get me wrong, they clean the buses, but not as frequently as they would like you to believe or as thoroughly. Another good thing to carry is tissues, or a small roll of Toilette paper with you. If the inevitable happens and you find you need to use the bathroom on the bus, they dont always contain toilette paper. It also helps to line the seat as well, or if your talented and well balanced enough, to hover. Avoid eating greasy foods like Hamburgers, fries, chips and the like. Not only will they make you very very groggy, but will not nurish you as well as you would think while on a bus and make those greyhound Gruesomes absolutely horrid when you reach your destination. Bring along something easily gotten to, and preferably something you dont have to stick your hands in to get at. Granola bars are excellent as they are wrapped up and you dont need to use your fingers to eat them, Banana's as well with their peels. If you want to buy something while on the trip, try to grab a Freshly packed Salad or Sandwidge but only if you plan on devouring them right away. Sandwidges that you made yourself and do not contain anythign that can spoil, like meat or mayo, are also good as well. Peanut butter and Jam is always a natural choice. Honey is also good, and a nice sweet treat as well for those sugar craving times ^.^ Crackers are good as well. Drinks are always a necessity, however Pop, like at the con, is not something you want to be guzzling. Bottled water that can be refilled is awesome. Fruit juice, V8 and the like are much better for the long journey. Sleeping also helps as well. wash your hands regularily, and your face. try to avoid touching your face or rubbing your eyes/mouth while traveling as this will enhance your chances of snagging something nasty. Hope everyone has a safe journey, I look forward to seeing everyone! |

May I add to maybe think of bringing warmer clothes as sometimes the drivers go crazy on the AC and you end up with a cold being too lightly clothed..

Lol Whoops, i forgot that one! Which is odd since I'm ALWAYS freezing on the bus lol.
Definately bring a hoodie or a sweater just in case.
