Anyone knows a good place to get your stuff framed? Because the weight limit from trips to Mex to USA as been getting tighter. and I dont think framing here will be a good idea (destroyed inthe handling? ) so wondering if anyone has any idea if theres framing services around the convention center... also if its recommended using Gel ( acrylic) protection insteat of glass? |

If you plan on hanging stuff up in the artshow, or having anything hanging in general, the FAQ requests that you refrain from using Glass. The reason mainly being that if someoen should bump into the panels and the picture falls, teh glass will not only shatter but can be a severe hazard, especially for any children that happen to be in the area. It also takes alot to clean up as well.
Plastic is okay as far as I know.
Alas I do not know any place that frames near the convention centre, but have you concidered matting? it's much easier to do and wont break in rough handling. I'm not sure exactly what Matte is made form but it's cardboard like.

Matte is normally made of heavy cardstock or foam core board. Heavy cardstock it usually the better choice. However it is more expensive.
