DDR pads/games/tournament questions

Alright, I don't see anything giving up-to-date detail on it, so here we go! What type of dance games will be played? Strictly DDR? If DDR, Supernova 1/2, Extreme 1/2, etc? I'm hoping there will be Stepmania, or at the very least In The Groove/Mungyodance. Also out of curiousity, what types of pads will be available for play? Trash-bag pads taped to wood? Foam pads? Metal pads? Finally, have tournament ground rules been established yet? Are we going with the traditional "One person picks song, other picks mods" deal?

Any answers would be great, as my legs are itching to go but I am drawing a blank as far as what the dance gaming at the game arena will entail. Pun not intended.

VG Room Volunteers needed

Hey folks,

Due to situations out of anyone's control, we're down a few staffers this year. I will do my best to keep the room open as much as possible, but I'm only one person. If any of you would be willing to assist me with keeping it open (and setup/breakdown too!), I would be extremely grateful. You can contact me ahead of time if you wish, but I'll also be putting up a contact/signup sheet in the room itself.

WoW TCG - team raids, anyone?

I play the World of Warcraft card game - it's pretty fun, if you've never played. It's like a "fixed" version of Magic, a bit less complicated. People can team up (teams of 3-5) to play against large raid bosses (Onyxia, Molten Core, Magnetherion). If anyone's up for it, just keep an eye out for Red Leader - i'll have a DS and some badges with Red Pandas on it

I'd like to get a raid going anyway, they're pretty fun - so if you've got a raid deck, bring it or tune it up!

Rage CCG demos and open play

I'll be offering Rage demos twice. You don't have to attend both!

You can come in a little late or leave early. I'll likely run multiple games in the alloted time.

RAGE CCG DEMO & OPEN PLAY (offered twice)

Take control of a pack of Garou, savage werewolves, as they battle the forces of the Wyrm in defense of Mother Earth, Gaia.

Call upon ancient spirit pacts, mystical abilities, and the tools of the modern world to destroy the forces of corruption that threaton to plunge the world into eternal darkness and decay.

But not every Garou agrees how best to save Gaia. Is is best done through force? Through renewing the traditions and spirit pacts of old? Through mystical means? Or should the Garou just adapt to the new age and help Gaia change to fit into the new world?

Orim and his games

Tis only ten days till AC. Which gives about ten days for this wolf to pick which games to bring to AC. Seeing how I suck when it comes to picking, I will leave it up to votes Here is the list, the top three from these nine I will bring. And no double voting.

Zombies!!! (2-6 players, about an hour to play)
Munchkin (3-6 players, about an hour to play)
Lunch Money (3-6 players, about an hour)
Hex Hex (3-6 players, about 30 mins to play)
Killer Bunnies [Blue starter] (2-8 players, about 1-2 hours to play)
Gloom (2-4 players, about 30 mins to play)
The Red Dragon Inn (2-4 players, about an hour to play)
Memoir '44 (2 player or Team Play], about an hour to play)
World of WarCraft The Board Game (2-6 players, about 2-3 hours to play)

So let the votes come in. And as always with me, I will bring Fluxx. Damn I love that game. And I will see you all at AC, either int he games room, or in the Zoo.

The Reaper's Game (The World Ends With You)

Good evening, ladies and gentlemen.

My compatriots and I will be running the Reaper's Game at this year's Anthrocon. Our only problem? A sorrowful lack of Players.

This is, of course, where you come in. If you interested in playing in the Reaper's Game, please let us know at or . We will require cell numbers capable of text messaging, as missions will be given through text messages. If you are concerned about privacy of your phone number, we suggest the use of a prepaid phone with 30-60 minutes.

We recognize that your time at the convention is important, and have streamlined the time spent playing to approximately an 60-120 minutes per day, for three days. Of course should one team complete the mission, all players will pass to the next day, meaning that if you are willing to trust in your fellow Players' skill, you can certainly pass to Day Three without incident. Of course, should nobody pass, all Players will be erased.

I'm wondering if anyone would be interested in a quickie Ironclaw campaign with premade characters. I saw it done at MFF a couple of times, but I know the GM that was there will be busy at another convention that weekend. I'm trying to build a campaign based on the convention's theme, so expect some jungle trekking.

DDR (Stepmania)

Hello,

I was wondering. I will be bringing my notebook to the convention, which has Stepmania 3.9 (A DDR program), and I also have an S-Video out cable for it that hooks up to a Television (via RCA). I was curious if I brought these two items, plus a PSX/USB converter (that ignores Joy Axis to recognize Left/Right and Up/Down combos) if I could hook it up for a bit at the gaming room and borrow someone's pads (I'll bring my own plastic Topway ones if I have to) and play DDR on my Stepmania program?

DS

You going to have one? You going to bring it? If you answered 'yes' to both these questions, then what games will you be bringing? I'd like to get a list going now while we have the time, perhaps arrange some sort of meet-up for a gaming tourney or something in the zoo. Last year we had enough people with DS(s) to fill up one room in PictoChat(16 people) and half fill another. I think on the last day we had three rooms going possibly. Don't know, was too busy packing at the time.

I will start this list, here are my games!

Advanced Wars: Dual Strike
Pokemon: Pearl
Final Fantasy III
Mario Kart
Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin
New Super Mario Bros
Super Mario Bros 64 DS

Return of Live Action Roleplaying Chess interest

I already submitted this to the suggest-a-panel thingie, is there any way to confirm that the proper people have gotten it? There was no confirmation of any kind... oh well.

ANYWAY. After premiering at last years AC and polished at FC, I'm ready to run the third incarnation of LIVE ACTION ROLEPLAYING CHESS. This has been a big hit every time I've run it (all two!)

If you weren't lucky enough to play or watch this game at another convention, it's a fursuit-friendly 32-player game played on an appropriately sized chess board. Each piece moves as it normally does, and gets special ability cards appropriate to its class.

a few pictures from last year, just before the blood bath starts >:3

http://www.papayakitty.com/AC07/DSCF0044%20Chess%20light%20side.JPG
http://www.papayakitty.com/AC07/DSCF0043%20Chess%20dark%20side.JPG

BorrRRrrring. Your job in borrring. Interspersed with bouts of hard work. At least the pay’s decent.
Oh yes. Your job. You work on a bethnic mass transport. Basically an old deep water freighter sub. You don’t hall Long-John or anything valuable. But large mass quantities of gear and supplies to deep submergence research bases, Long-John mines and other very deep outposts and towns on Poseidon. Its nearly a year to make the circuit, starting at Daffid station. The floating city is the only place the Ship can dock near the surface.

Turn-based tactics. AD-hoc only (sadly). So is anyone else getting this baby and going to have their PSP there? Well, of course you're going to have your PSP there, so who wants to take on the Bydo Empire?

AC 08 40k Combat Patrols

OK, so there have been so many people responding to me via last year's post, AIM, etc that I've decided to make this announcement a bit early. Yes, I do plan on running this and yes, I will be talking with the staff in the next few weeks to try and get the game room reserved for a bit to do this proper. Last year it was so hard finding each other we barely got to play, and when we did, it was fun games.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl

I'm surprised no one's mentioned this yet, heh.
Smash Bros. Melee has been a popular game in past conventions, and I'm sure Brawl will be no different. Are there plans for a tourney, or at the very least, some four-way brawls open?

OK, so I tried the programming e-mail and found out it didn't work... (And yes, I removed the (at) and replaced it with @!)

Who do I hit up for getting a gaming event scheduled?

2D Fighters!

I think I saw a thread about this around here somewhere but it must be long gone and dead. I am wondering who out there may be bringing or be interested in some good old competition style 2D Fighters. Guilty Gear XX, Marvel vs Capcom 2, King of Fighters SVC, and the list goes on.

I have been out of touch with what is new in the fighter world but I do remember seeing that capcom is cutting away from 2D permanently which totally sucks. I am ok on the Soul Calibur series and Tekken Tag, but thats about it for me when it comes to 3D fighters.

Play against a Guitar Hero developer at AC

I'm lucky enough to be on the dev team for the Wii SKU of Guitar Hero: Aerosmith. I don't know the current street date (and I couldn't tell you guys if I did), but if it happens to come out before AC, you're all welcome to try your hand at beating me.

Even if it isn't out by then, you'll probably be able to find me chilling around any public console with Guitar Hero 3 in it.

Cheers!
