Fursuit Questions
Posted by Giza (Douglas Muth) on Thu, 2008-11-27 23:41
Absolutely not! As of 2008, only about 13% of our attendees wore fursuits in our Fursuit Parade. Many attendees enjoy the convention without ever wearing a fursuit. There are a number of individuals who make fursuits. We would recommend asking on our forums or checking the Fursuit Makers category on WikiFur for further information. |

Age Questions (for those under ages 18 and 21)

Posted by Giza (Douglas Muth) on Tue, 2007-07-31 09:50
We do NOT recommend using a debit card to pay for your hotel room. At the time you check in, a "hold" will be placed on the card for the full amount of your stay, plus a little extra for incidentals (usually $60 or so). This is standard practice and is designed to protect the hotel from chargebacks and other discomforts. While this poses no problems if you have a credit card, using a debit card will cause the entire amount of the "hold" to be unavailable to you for the entire course of the convention, and depending on your bank, for several days after the convention is over. If you really want to use a debit card to pay for your room, we recommend that you check in with a regular credit card, and then pay for the room with your debit card when checking out. |
Guest of Honor Questions
Posted by Giza (Douglas Muth) on Sat, 2007-07-28 11:37
The process by which we select a Guest of Honor is similar to a papal conclave and just as mysterious. Many factors are considered -- everything from their availability to budgetary concerns. There are literally dozens of people that we would like to consider in any given year, however we can only choose two or three. We hope that no one views it as a slight if we do not select a particular person. It is almost always a matter of "not quite right for this year". We still welcome suggestions, although we prefer those to be emailed to us, rather than discussed on public forums, since the latter often leads to misunderstandings. A list of our previous years' Guests of Honor can be found on our History Page. |
