Anthrocon is the world's largest convention for those fascinated with anthropomorphics, which are humanlike animal characters. We are a collection of artists, animators, writers, costumers, puppeteers, and just everyday fans who enjoy cartoon animals and their kin. Membership is open to any and all who like to imagine what it would be like if animals could walk and talk as we do.
Our 2010 convention has come and gone. Big thanks to our honored guests Mr. James Gurney, author and illustrator of the Dinotopia series of books, and Mr. Jim Martin, Emmy-award winning puppeteer, director, and character performer; and likewise to the 4238 registered attendees who joined us at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, PA. We are very pleased to announce that our various charity functions this year raised a total of $12,849 for Pittsburgh's own Fayette Friends of Animals.
Now that the convention is over the staff is taking a break for the Summer. We will be back again after Labor Day once we have caught up on some much-needed rest, after which we will begin
preparing for Anthrocon 2011, "The Anthropomorphic Institute of Magic," to be held from
from June 23-26, 2011 in Pittsburgh. Join us then for workshops, panel discussions, an art exhibition, a dealer room and much more!
