Why don't you have more programming involving puppets (or costumes, or writing, or...)?
Anthrocon strives to provide a variety of programming events so that there is something for everyone. Our programming space is limited and we have only so many hours in the weekend; thus, if we were cater too strongly to one particular programming track, we would have to take programming space away from other tracks. If you have ideas for programming, please send them to the Programming Department, but please also understand that we cannot use every idea we receive.

Can I hold my wedding at Anthrocon?
Sorry, no. We get far too many requests to honor them all.
Holding your wedding during the convention at a nearby location is perfectly acceptable, and has happened before.
Can I propose to my significant other at Anthrocon?
Again, due to the number of requests, we are unable to offer it as part of our official programming or as a stage event.
If you wish to propose to your significant other while the convention is taking place, feel free.
Can I use Anthrocon's programming space for a private function?
Again, sorry, but no. Anthrocon needs all of its programming space. Even space that may appear to be unused is often needed for setup or for overflow from other events. We are also responsible for what happens in our programming space, and the question of liability comes up.
Do I need a visa to enter the United States?
If your country is participating in the Visa Waiver Program, then no.
If your country is not, then try the Visa Wizard on the State Department's website.
What documentation do I need to cross the border?
If you are flying in to the United States from any other country, you MUST have a valid passport for your country of nationality.
If you are driving into the United States from Canada or Mexico, or are coming in by boat from Bermuda, check the requirements at the Department of Homeland Security website.
In my country I am of legal age even though I'm under 18. Am I still considered a minor in the USA?
Is anyone else from my country going to be there?
All we can say is "Probably." You can try inquiring on our forums, or you may check out history by year pages for a breakdown of members by country.
Is Pittsburgh a safe city for an international traveler to visit?
Pittsburgh is no less safe than Copenhagen, London, Montreal, Paris, Prague, Amsterdam, or any other large city worldwide. We also have the advantage of being located in the heart of the city's business district, an area where the local authorities are particularly eager to see that people behave themselves.
We do not have notaries in my country. How can I get a minor permission form notarized if we don't have notaries?
Notary systems do vary from country to country. Please contact Registration, and we will direct you how to proceed.
