  • Can I register on-line?
  • Yes! In fact we encourage our attendees to register via our fast and secure online registration process if at all possible. It will allow us to make sure your badge and information is prepared and you will be able to go through the much faster pre-registration lines to obtain your badge.

  • Can I register via mail?
  • Yes. We accept mail-in registration. with payment by check, money order, or bank check. There is a printable PDF of our registration form located at the bottom of our Registration Page. We ask, however, if at all possible, that our attendees register online to reduce the load on our registration volunteers. It is vital that all registration mail be addressed to 'Anthrocon, Inc'.

  • Can I register at the door?
  • Of course! Registration On-site for all membership levels is available, beginning at $60 for Attending-level memberships and $30 for Day Passes. However, the line for On-site registrations is typically much longer and slower-moving than the Pre-registation line. To avoid this, we encourage our attendees to register online if possible. It's faster, cheaper, and reduces the workload of our registration volunteers!

  • Are there one-day registrations?
  • Yes. One-day registrations will be available on site for $30 on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Please remember that you will need proper identification to be able to register.

  • Where do I go to register or pick up my badge?
  • At Registration, which will be in the Convention Center, in Concourse B (just outside of Hall B).

  • What sort of ID do I need?
  • We need current, government-issued photo ID so that we can make sure nobody other than you is trying to pick up your badge, or register in your name. The four types of ID that are usually sufficient on their own are: A driver's license, a state-issued ID card, a passport, or a military ID. If you do not have any of the above, we still need ID or documents to prove your identity. Overall ID that includes photo and your date of birth is essential. Contact registration if you are unsure or need assistance.

  • My name is, or will be, different than the name on my Photo ID. What should I do?
  • Anthrocon understands complications with the changing of legal names. We advise you to register for Anthrocon under the name that will match the Photo ID you will present at the convention, or to bring court documentation of a legal name change. We understand that for some individuals their current legal name may not be their desired name, but it is what we must check ID against.

  • I just realized I cannot go. Can I get a refund?
  • Yes. Refund requests can be handled by sending us email until the close of pre-registration, which is typically 2-3 weeks before the convention (the exact date is given on our Pre-Registration page). After that point, we will be unable to offer refunds. Please include your legal name, badge name, and badge number in the email. If you cannot attend the convention, you must tell us prior to the close of Pre-Registration. Anthrocon cannot transfer memberships after that date. Due to the need for strict accounting, refunds may be performed in batches. Further Refund information is on our refund policy page.

  • Can I purchase a badge for someone else? Can I get a refund of a badge I purchased for someone else? You may purchase or upgrade an Anthrocon membership as a gift for someone else, certainly! You will need to have all their information at the ready. Once a membership or upgrade is purchased for someone, it is considered their property, and may not be cancelled, transferred, or downgraded without their permission.
If the membership you have purchased for someone else needs to be cancelled, you must have them send us an email, otherwise contact us, or ask us to contact them. We must hear directly from them, for security reasons.

  • I want to be a dealer. Do I need to buy a registration?
  • You will indeed need to purchase a membership; table purchase is a separate, required purchase to be a Dealer. Prices for Dealer Memberships are equivalent to the prices for Attending Memberships.

  • How will I know I have registered?
  • At the time your registration is processed, your credit card will be billed and an email will be sent to the email account you provided for us. This automated email will confirm your membership and the details of the data you provided us. Note that we are no longer sending paper registration confirmations by mail.

  • I didn't see the notification email. Is there another way to verify the status of my registration?
  • Contact our registration department at registration(at)anthrocon.org.

  • Did you charge me more than once for my registration?
It is very unlikely. Our payment processor is very particular about not letting a charge go through unless the information matches perfectly; and declines due to errors in addresses can result in temporary 'holds'. These holds will resemble charges in certain online banking accounts. They will almost always revert within 72 hours, so please wait and see if the 'charge' disappears within that time period. If not, do please contact us.
  • Can I upgrade my membership to a sponsor or Supersponsorship?
  • You can upgrade your membership at any time, even at the convention. Be aware, though, that due to catering logistics, we can only offer the Supersponsor luncheon to those who pre-register as Supersponsors!

  • How much is an upgrade, and how do I arrange for one?
  • Upgrading your membership is done a little differently this year. With our new registration system, you will need to click on the link that was emailed to you with your registration confirmation. It will take you to a page where you can create an account to view/upgrade your registrations. Once you have created your account and logged on you will be able to select and upgrade your membership. After pre-registration closes you will not be able to make changes to your registration. Once again, to upgrade, simply click the link that you received in your email confirmation. If you did not get an email confirmation, (a) check your spambox, and then (b) contact our registration department by email at registration(at)anthrocon.org.

To upgrade from: To Sponsor: To Supersponsor:
    Volunteer/Staff $50 $195
    Dealer $50 $195
    Attending $50 $195
    Sponsor -- $145

  • I am under 18 years of age. Can I still go to Anthrocon?
  • We welcome attendees of all ages. People under 18 will, however, have to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, or have a signed and notarized permission form (this can be found at the bottom of our Registration Page). We apologize if this is an inconvenience, but unfortunate situations in prior years have made this policy necessary. We strongly recommend that you make a copy of the notarized form and send it to us ahead of time if you pre-register. In any case, you must bring the original to the convention with you. Minors 12 years of age and younger may enter the con for free without a badge, but MUST be accompanied by their parent(s) at all times.

  • I'm not 18 now, but will be 18 before the con starts. Do I still need the minor form?
  • No. If you are an adult as of opening-ceremonies of the convention you will not need the form. If you are not an adult as of that time, you will be required to have a notarized minor conscent form even if you become an adult during the course of the convention.

  • What sort of identification will I need when I pick up my badge?
  • We accept government-issued ID that bears both your picture and your date of birth. Examples are a valid driver's license, a passport, or a state-issued ID card. A school ID is not acceptable on its own. We would want some form of secondary ID to go along with it.

  • I do not have any form of picture I.D. How do I get into the convention?
  • We suggest that you find some form of photo I.D. We can not admit anyone who is not able to show legal identification. Most states offer I.D. cards for people who do not wish to or are unable to obtain a drivers' license. If you cannot obtain a state-issued photo I.D., we will need some form of official I.D. that bears your picture (a school I.D., for example) and a second piece of identification that bears your date of birth (a birth certificate, for example). If you are in doubt, then bring as many pieces of identification as you can get your hands on.

  • I registered three weeks ago and have heard nothing. What's going on?
  • If you registered online you should have received an email confirmation of your registration. If you did not get an email confirmation, (a) check your spambox, and then (b) contact our registration department by email at registration(at)anthrocon.org. If you mailed-in your your registration please be patient and allow at least three weeks before inquiring about the status of your membership.

  • Can I use PayPal to pay for my registration?
  • We can not accept PayPal payments due to excessive surcharges and other concerns with that service.

  • Are donations made to Anthrocon tax-deductible? Can I deduct any portion of my sponsorship or supersponsorship?
  • Sorry, no. Anthrocon is a 501(c)7 organization. That means it falls under the same category as "fraternal organizations," since we felt that we really do not meet the Federal standards of a "pure public charity" or an "educational institution." Donations to Anthrocon are not deductible from Federal taxes.

  • How do I change my badge name, my address on file, fix a spelling error, etc?
  • You will need to click on the link that was emailed to you with your registration confirmation. It will take you to a page where you can create an account to view/update your registrations. Once you have created your account and logged on you will be able to select and upgrade your membership. After pre-registration closes you will not be able to make changes to your registration. You can also email Registration. We're able to easily make these changes up until Pre-Registration closes; beyond that point we cannot guarantee changes to be made before the convention. Please include your legal name, badge name, and badge number with these requests. Badge name changes made at the convention will require a small reprint fee.

  • Can I get multiple badges, so my fursuits can have different ones?
  • No. Anthrocon has a one-badge-per-attendee policy for security reasons. We do permit blank 'badge names', which offer anonymity without compromising security.

  • What if I lose my badge at the convention?
Firstly: Please check the Lost and Found at ConOps! Lost badges frequently turn up there.
In addition, reprints are available. Please come to Registration and present your Photo ID. For security reasons, badge reprints cost $30. However, if you can locate your lost badge within 24 hours, and come to Registration with both badges, we will refund the reprint cost.
