Anthrocon 2027 - Ready, Set, Game On!

Just like the thrill of a new game reveal, we’re excited to announce the first openings for Anthrocon 2027! Here’s a preview of the changes you’ll want to know for Registration, Dealers, Hotels, Volunteering, Events and River Cruises.

Registration

Pre-registration for 2027 will open online on October 20, 2026 at approximately 8 PM EDT while inventory lasts or until our cutoff date in June 2027, whichever happens first. After that, you will be able to purchase Day Pass memberships during the convention, on our site, while inventory lasts. All information will continue to be updated on our registration page before the start of pre-registration.

Creating an account: You must first create an account (or log in with your previous account) on the registration system starting in early October, then you can select and purchase a membership. Simply creating an account does NOT constitute membership, so make sure you complete both steps.

Attendance limit (cap): We are limiting the number of memberships for Anthrocon 2027 as we’ve done in previous years to ensure venue and attendee safety. Get your registration in advance so you can guarantee your experience — we’ll announce when we’re close to our cap!

Supersponsor inventory: To provide better value for Supersponsors and advance hotel booking chances, we are reducing our Supersponsor inventory from 700 to 600. This membership type will remain first-come-first-serve and will be available to purchase online through our registration system while inventory lasts.

Ultrasponsor lottery: With the demand for Ultrasponsor tier, we will be utilizing a lottery system to distribute these extra-limited memberships.

Day passes: We will continue to review our system to ensure more fairness for those that are planning to purchase day passes during the convention. Day passes will not be sold as part of pre-registration. They will only be available on our site, during the actual event itself.

Dealers and Artists Alley

Dealers applications are scheduled to open starting October 20 and will remain open for approximately three weeks. Once applications close, curation and selection will happen between November and January 2027, with approved applicants notified no later than the end of January.

Artists Alley lottery signups will be announced later in 2027.

Hotel Accommodations and Transportation

As with previous years, our current plan is to open our staggered hotel blocks (by membership type) starting at the beginning of February. However, we’ve got some important changes to note for 2027.

Expectation for hotel availability: We know certain hotels are popular for convenience. However, the reality is that there are WAY more attendees of all levels than there are rooms at these hotels. While upgraded memberships such as Supersponsors will have better chances of booking these popular hotels in advance, but with a limited supply of rooms and everyone looking to book the same type of rooms, you may not get the exact booking you want. Rest assured, every hotel room at our partner hotels is a comfortable stay, and all the hotels outside the immediate con area will have dedicated transportation services, helping you fast travel between your hotel and the convention. We’re constantly working to expand these services so you can look forward to Anthrocon no matter which partnered hotel you stay at.

Renovations at the Drury Hotel Pittsburgh: The Drury Plaza Hotel Pittsburgh Downtown is always working to enhance your experience and help you Travel Happy. As part of our commitment to continuous improvement, the Drury will be undergoing renovations through July 2027. For Anthrocon 2027 attendees, this means that fewer rooms will be available, but we’re working to increase inventory at neighboring hotels to ensure there’s a place for you to stay.

Beware of fake hotel offers: If anyone else tells you they have “official” hotel rooms, they are likely attempting to scam you. Anthrocon-rate rooms for 2027 are only available through our official housing provider link which is uniquely tied to your registration. If you booked at a hotel outside of the convention’s block, you will NOT be able to get the convention rate nor get any assistance from Anthrocon once the block opens, and are subject to the hotel’s standard policies.

Staff and Volunteer Opportunities

If you have a few spare hours at the convention and like giving back to the community, while also getting some great experience and building connections, volunteering could be a great fit for you. If you’re willing to contribute your time before or at the convention, let us know by completing the Volunteering section in our Registration system (you must create an account first), or by dropping by our Operations office in room 309 of the convention center!

Events

Our Events team will be opening up for panel submissions, DJ submissions, and other applications in the month of November! If you’re planning to host any event or meetup, or take to the stage with your talents, make sure to apply early as our team will be going through many applications and contacting approved submissions. River Cruises

River Cruise tickets for Anthrocon 2027 are scheduled to be sold starting in November! Whether you’re looking for awesome photo opportunities or want to enjoy a beautiful sunset on the river, these cruises are always a popular way to enjoy both the city of Pittsburgh and hanging out with fellow furries. You can find available tickets by going onto our registration system and viewing the “Event Store”. Details about 2027 pricing and timeslots will be updated prior to tickets opening on the River Cruises page.
