Colony Cafe in alliance with Animal Friends have established a Cat Cafe and Wine Bar where you can enjoy food, drinks, kittens, and cats. The kittens and cats are all up for adoption and live at the cafe until they find the right home.

You can make reservations, which is recommended, to spend an hour in the cat loft playing with the cats. It is $8 per visitor and limited to 10 visitors each hour.

You can find menus and more details at https://www.colonycafepgh.com/

They are located about a 5 minute walk from the convention center on Penn Street, next door to Eide’s Entertainment.

I went during their opening day. It's a cool place. If it's something you'd like to do, go on their website and book a visit to the colony well before you arrive in Pittsburgh, because they will most likely be totally booked for the entire weekend.

Ya can still go in anytime to buy stuff from the cafe and support the kitties without a reservation.

I love places like that; I have a feeling they probably have much better adoption rates than most shelters do.  I hope they're prepared for how busy they're going to be during AC, though!

As for me, I'll keep a safe distance.  Odds of me getting out of there without adopting one are nearly nonexistant, and my older cat would have a heart attack if I bring her a second "sister."

I wonder if they'd allow fursuiters in? Probably not, for the safety and well-being of the animals, but I can't help thinking what an amazing photo op it would be.

Most cats don't seem to react incredibly well to suiters; mine want absolutely nothing to do with me in suit.  I'm sure there are exceptions, but I don't see that going very well, sadly.

One of mine doesn't care at all and the other one is totally freaked out. It's probably not a good idea.

My two cats tend to be like "Oh geeze, dad's gone off again".
