If I remember correctly registration opens Thursday.

I personally prefer to arrive Wednesday as it gives me more time to explore, maybe take in a few activities outside of the convention, like visiting the Aviary or going on a cruise.

Registration has never opened at 8am on Thursday, at least since 2009 when I first attended the convention.  On Thursday pre-reg badge pick-up opens by noon and on-site opens by 2:00pm.

Sunday 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Who on earth would register at 4:00pm on Sunday? Just in time to catch the Closing Ceremonies? (Now I'm curious as to just what the latest is that any attendee has ever registered on a Sunday.)

I have registeredsomeone at 3:57 on a Sunday at Anthrocon. It's a slow day especially after noon, but sometimes people walk in and are curious. Registration is also open later hours to handle needed badges and reprints, and it's a quiet time where some things can be broken down, packed and tidied.

Ive had dreams or maybe more accurately nightmares about showing up at a con minutes before it closes and  or forgetting my sketchbooks and francticly running around trying to do things last second.

As far back as I remember,
badge pickup starts Thursday afternoon and runs into the evening,
and runs morning into evening Friday, as well as continuing into the weekend.
The exact times, and exact locations, may change, but it starts Thursday afternoon.
(This year, the prereg/badge pickup starts AT noon and continues through the afternoon.)

Yes. From noon to 10:00 pm on concourse B or a little after 10:00 pm to 2:00 am in room 309.

According the Protocollie, as of the 5th, the DJ selections had not yet been made. See this thread: http://www.anthrocon.org/node/36195/quick-apology-and-update

Once the selections are made, the lineup will probably be posted in the Dance forum. Past lineups have been posted there, as well.

Badges will be handed out outside of ConOps that is correct. The times will be similar to last year but we will have more hours available.

I noticed there is no replacement for 2's usual slot on Friday night in the Main events.  While I am not complaining about 2 not being there this year (especially since he is gettign himself off alcohol currently and is really in no shape to perform)  I'm surprised the Main Events hall has a blank spot on Friday during Prime time. Puzzled

That blank spot in the schedule was the time during which convention center workers cleared out the chairs (with the help of attendees of the previous event) and installed the floor for Floor Wars.

Which packed the ballroom.

I can confirm this. I didn't actually catch it myself, but I did peek into the hall in passing at the time.

Gosh DANG, that place was indeed PACKED. And I'm happy for it! Even if it's competition for my part of Programming (Video Games, #woo), it's still great to hear and see things getting so much attention!

I thought non-union people weren't allowed to do that,
or is it OK if there's a full union crew on-hand?

I would assume it was the union folk doing set up and tear down.

Goodness knows we have them in the game room. Given our need for wiring/power. We don't touch the taped wires, that's all them.

They suggested it, so we must have gotten special dispensation for the circumstances. We have a very good working relationship with the DLCC so they're inclined to do little favors like this for us from time to time.
