Do you have your hotel room yet?
You may not wish to wait much longer. Click here for an update of our hotel fill-rate.
Note that when we say "full" we are referring to Anthrocon's contracted room block. When the room block fills there may still be rooms available in the hotel; whether or not we can negotiate to have them added to our block (which offers a substantial discount off of the standard rate) is out of our hands, and will depend on many factors. We will do our utmost to ensure that there are affordable rooms within a reasonable distance of the Convention Center, but please understand that while we are very good at negotiating, we've not been able to get Pittsburgh to build us another hotel attached to the Convention Center. We think that we've got them considering it, at least.
Another note: If you try to make a reservation and receive an error message or a message that says "rate not available on chosen nights," it is possible (and in fact probable) that the block is only sold out on one of the nights you've chosen, or that the room type that you selected is not available (for example, as of this posting the Doubletree has only two double rooms left in our block). If that happens, please send an email to ceo(at)anthrocon.org and let us know which hotel you tried to book at. We cannot promise, but we may be able to add a few more rooms to the block. If not, we will update the hotel status on our hotel page.
Remember, if you see someone crying that our hotels are full, check here first. The hotels are not full until we say they are!
As a matter of fact I just did today. Omni here I come! (again.I like it)
I reserved a few weeks ago. Should I call the hotel to confirm that my reservation went through? (I did get an e-mail confirmation)
It's considered a good idea to confirm your reservation twice. Two weeks after having made the inital reservation, and two weeks before the start of the con.
I'll have to call up the Westin shortly anyway. Their reservation system was odd this year in that it did not give me the option to put other people's names on the reservation. Just my own and the number of adults. So, I'll be calling them and adding names sometime soon.
Prudence takes precedence.
When i called to verify my initial registration they were able to add the additional names, you should be able to do the same without any issues.
You can also add names at check-in. Assuming, that is, that you arrive before your other guests. But do you really want them to check in and get to the room before you anyway?
I tried confirming my reservation for the Westin online using my last name & confirmation number and got this message on thier website. https://www.starwoodhotels.com/westin/reservations/find_reservations_results.html
"We have found your reservation. It is not possible to display this particular reservation online. This is usually due to an unusual or complex rate or set of rates associated with the reservation in question. For questions regarding this reservation, please contact the Customer Contact Center nearest you."
I'm guessing my reservation's alright. But I'll give them a call this week to double check.
Try confirming your reservation at this link: https://www.starwoodmeeting.com/StarGroupsWeb/booking/reservation?id=1201271727&key=E84F3
The check reservation link is in the upper right hand corner. Since it is part of a group block the reservation has to be checked under their Starwood Meeting site and not their regular hotel website.
That one worked, thanks!!
